For starters this bike is not for the faint of heart, as it is a single speed bike and considerably heavy.( About 48 lbs) The rims and tires are HUGE. If you've ever seen one up close and live, the first thing to come out of your mouth is WOW!!!. These bikes are not so easy to peddle unless you're accustomed to riding a fixed speed bike. And even then, you will question your abilities. This is the reason I replaced the 18 tooth back cog with a 22 tooth cog, as it made it a little easier on the legs and hills. Removing the back cog was not very difficult, as it is only held in place by a thin metal ring that you can pop out with a small flat head screwdriver. The 22 tooth cog ( Sturmey Archer 1/8" 22t Coaster Brake Cog ) can be found on Amazon or Ebay for less than 10 dollars. I got mine on Ebay with free shipping for 6.99, as it could not be found on Amazon at the time. (Sorry Amazon) I will say that while Walmart is offering another version of this Mongoose bike called the "Beast" for 199.00, I was more attracted to Amazons Mongoose "Brutus" because of the black with yellow rims which Walmart does not offer. This Brutus cruiser as I have learned, will be turning heads, creating big smiles and having people asking questions. It is a blast to ride as you roll along on those very FAT wheels. Curbs are easily climbed and the best part is you don't have to be an acrobat to do it. Whether you're riding on paved or dirt roads you will definitely have a good time and get a lot of funny looks from people. If you are not mechanically inclined I suggest you take it to your nearest bike shop and have them do the work. It won't break your pocket and you'll be a happy camper.
