Bought this for my wife and she loves it. It's not for hard-core mountain biking though. If that's what you're looking for, please look else where. This is newbie material, but quite decent one indeed. She just rides around the local reserve near our house where it has decent trails with few slopes.
The seat probably needs to be replaced if you need a big and comfy seat. Brakes are decent and the ride is not harsh. All in all I would say this bike is more of an exercise bike than a real mountain bike and definitely for newbies. My wife and I just get into mountain biking and all we want is to shed a few pounds. Wifey did lose quite a bit. As a result, she loves the bike.
