Diamondback Bicycles 2014 Recoil Full Suspension Mountain Bike with 29-Inch Wheels
Product Description
The Recoil 29 is the perfect beginner bike for those just getting into aggressive riding or those who are looking for an entry level full suspension rig. full suspension, 29" wheel, mountain bike. The foundation for this is firmly laid with a 6061 T-6 Aluminum Trail frame sporting 4" of travel via the Kindshock Coil w/oil damping rear shock. The frame uses a machine formed top tube and a butted and formed down tube. It uses a sealed cartridge bearing pivot and is built around an optimized single pivot design. It consists of a pivot just above the bottom bracket, slightly up on the down tube and a single swingarm to the rear axle. Being that the rear triangle directly attaches to the rear shock, the shock has a more linear spring rate and offers good small bump compliance. Full suspension, 29" wheel, mountain bike. The front end of the bike is proudly supported by a SR Suntour XCT 100mm fork with external preload adjust allowing you to dial the fork in for your specific needs. SR Suntour XCC T202 Cranks (24/34/42t) combined with a Shimano drivetrain including an Altus front and Acera rear derailleurs, SL-M310 8spd Rapid-fire shifters and an HG31 8spd Cassette (11-32t) give you 24 pedal crushing gears to choose from. The Tektro IO Plus mechanical disc brakes with 6" rotors will provide all of the braking power that you'll need and the 32h Diamondback SL-7 Double wall wheelset will provide a tough and stable platform for your bike to roll on. Spec subject to change.
CUSTOMER REVIEW

I purchased the 16 inch 2014 Diamondback Recoil Full Suspension Bicycle 29er for my wife and the 20 inch version for myself. I am giving these bikes 5 stars because they are exactly as advertised. The bikes arrived on time and in good condition. One box was torn up a little but there was no damage to its contents.
Assembly and tuning was pretty straight forward and most tools needed were provided with the bike.
A couple of observations that may help someone considering the purchase of this bike:
1.The description indicates that this is a beginner bicycle. I would disagree with that comment as I this is a very sturdy bicycle and in my opinion would stand up to some moderate trails without a problem. The suspension is adjustable and it has the amenities that a moderately experienced trail rider on a tight budget could appreciate.
2.Short riders (my wife is 5 feet, 4 inches tall) may find the 16 inch bike a bit large for them. However my wife loves the bike and was unwilling to get something else.
